UC Neurobiology Research Center

The UC Neurobiology Research Center highlights the importance of discovery to the University of Cincinnati Gardner Neuroscience Institute’s mission of education, research and treatment, and it serves as a driving force for the integration of clinical and basic science research programs. Our mission is to:

  • Promote basic research aimed at understanding causes of neurological and psychiatric pathologies
  • Identify novel and innovative strategies to advance treatments and cures
  • Partner with clinicians to generate translational research programs linking the ‘bench’ to the ‘bedside’
  • Foster collaborative research among UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute’s centers of excellence, programs, and laboratories, and with community partners including Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the Cincinnati VA Medical Center

The Neurobiology Research Center coordinates and awards numerous pilot grants each year to further developing research that has the potential to achieve larger grant funding in the future. UC faculty and senior fellows are eligible to compete for the grants, which emphasize collaboration between basic researchers and clinicians.
