Adam Leone, MD-MPH student, wins 1st out of 60 poster presentations

Congratulations to M3 MD-MPH student Adam Leone. His abstract won first place among more than sixty poster presentation at this year’s University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Department of Community Service (DOCS) Community Health Leadership Conference (CHLC) at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. This conference showcases the student-run free clinic-related work of medical students from across the country and fosters collaboration and the sharing of ideas among them. Adam’s poster, “Clinic Flow For A Student-Run Free Eye Clinic,” detailed UCCOM's upcoming Bearcat Eye Service (BES). He and his colleagues are starting a student-run free eye clinic, in conjunction with the UC Department of Ophthalmology. At this conference, Adam presented data from the needs assessment and the clinic flow system and that he and his co-author (Alec Murphy) have developed and plan to pilot soon.
