Faculty Research Service/Citizenship Award

Nominations: Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 10am

Many of our UC College of Medicine faculty serve our research mission by volunteering for internal review panels, data and safety monitoring boards, IRB, IACUC, biosafety and radiation safety committees, and much more. They often serve for many years with little recognition for the time and expertise they commit to improving the quality and rigor of our research.

To recognize this service to our research mission, the CoM Office of Research is soliciting nominations for the UC College of Medicine Research Service Award. The award will be presented to a College of Medicine full-time faculty member who has demonstrated exceptional service to the College of Medicine.

Eligibility:

Full-time faculty members with an official CoM academic appointment are eligible to be nominated. Emeritus and volunteer faculty are not eligible. CCHMC and the VA faculty are not eligible. Previous Research Service Awardees are not eligible.

Nomination Package:

• Cover page (include nominee’s name, email address, professional title, department, and contact information of those who provided a recommendation)
• A detailed letter from a Department Chair, Division Director, or Committee Chair stating why the faculty member deserves to be recognized. The letter should highlight in what capacities the nominee has served the CoM, and how they demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the CoM deserving of special recognition.
  • Specifically, the letter should describe the kinds of service (committees, review boards etc.), the duration of service, and any leadership roles in service.
• CV- Highlight both current and past intramural service

Nomination Deadline:

The cover page, nomination letter, and CV should be submitted as one PDF document via redcap: Research Service Award Nomination Form by Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 10am.

Recognition:

The award recipient will receive college-wide recognition and honored at the CoM Research Celebration in the fall of 2025. Recipients of College of Medicine Office of Research awards are expected to assist the Office when requested (i.e. providing grant reviews, attending College of Medicine events, etc.)
