LC 15 addresses the critical issue of health access, defined as the ability to obtain healthcare services, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of health conditions. Key barriers include affordability, convenience, and systemic inequities, as highlighted by trans patients' experiences of harassment, refusal of care, and avoidance of healthcare settings due to fear of mistreatment. Bridging knowledge gaps and collecting data are essential to optimize care and ensure equitable health access for these marginalized communities, especially in light of anti-trans and anti-LGBTQIA+ legislature being passed at the state level.
