Medical Community Advocates Pathway
We believe that outstanding physicians go beyond clinical care to champion the needs of their patients and communities. The Medical Community Advocates learning pathway provides residents with the skills, experience, and support to make a lasting impact—both within our medical center and in the broader community.
Advocacy Within Our Medical Center
Effective advocacy starts where we work. Residents in this pathway collaborate with hospital leadership, care teams, and support staff to enhance patient care systems, improve access to essential services, and address challenges that impact our patients’ well-being. Whether it’s streamlining transitions of care, improving health literacy, or developing initiatives that remove barriers to treatment, our residents learn to drive meaningful change from within.
Engagement Beyond the Hospital
The health of our patients is deeply connected to the world beyond our walls. Our residents partner with local organizations, public health initiatives, and community leaders to better understand and address the medical and social factors that shape health outcomes. Through outreach clinics, educational programs, and policy engagement, we work to close gaps in care, strengthen community resources, and empower patients to take charge of their health.
By blending hands-on experience with structured mentorship, the Medical Community Advocates pathway equips residents with the knowledge and leadership skills to be lifelong advocates for their patients—wherever their careers take them.
