Clinical Sites - University of Cincinnati Medical Center - Our medical center just announced a $221 million dollar expansion, the largest of its kind ever in Cincinnati. We are excited to be part of this amazing effort.
Opening in 1823 as the country’s first teaching hospital, the mission of University of Cincinnati Medical Center was to provide care for the aged, indigent and orphaned.
Today, this mission continues. University of Cincinnati Medical Center has an international reputation, bringing thousands of people, from the region and around the world, to Cincinnati to receive care from world-renowned physicians in state-of-the-art medical facilities.
Many physicians at University of Cincinnati Medical Center are also faculty physicians at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, one of the top 50 medical schools in the country.
These physicians have access to the latest technological procedures and clinical trial medications, ensuring the best quality of care for our patients. Clinical Sites - VA Medical CenterOur VA Medical Center is a 5 star hospital and was recently ranked 9th in the nation out of 125 VA facilities.
You will work in collaborative teams in an integrated environment that supports learning, discovery, and continuous improvement. You will spend time on the general medicine inpatient wards, consulting services, subspecialty clinics, and in the intensive care unit at the VA.
Unique learning opportunities in the Medicine department at the VA include point of care ultrasonography with daily bedside rounds facilitated by trained providers, a robust procedural and code simulation lab, multidisciplinary bedside and discharge rounds, quality improvement projects, research opportunities with access to the largest patient care database in the world, and a committed group of academic medicine attendings.
Additionally the Cincinnati VAMC has specialized services catered to patient needs such as hospital-in-home, home based primary care, an on-site skilled nursing facility, and a strong palliative care and geriatrics program.
The Cincinnati VAMC is also the headquarters for the national Tele-ICU program. Combined these services form the foundation for a medical center that strives to provide the best possible care to veterans while maintaining the flexibility to evolve to the updated and changing landscapes of the healthcare environment.
