Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The University of Cincinnati Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery serves as a tertiary referral center for evaluation, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity, face, and the adjacent and associated structures.

Through UC Health, the division offers services that include correction of skeletal deformities, trauma, reconstructive jaw surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, pathology of the oral & maxillofacial regions, facial aesthetic surgery, dento-alveolar surgery, and ambulatory anesthesia.

The advanced training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery received its most recent full accreditation in 2022. The faculty and resident surgeons of the division practice at the UC Health Physicians’ offices in the Medical Arts Building and the UC Health’s Holmes Hospital located in Clifton. These locations contain surgical suites to provide a full scope of care. Certain patients are also seen in West Chester at the UC Health Physicians Office North.

Research is continually being conducted in a diverse collection of areas related to pathology, surgical outcomes, anesthesia, genetics and engineering, among others.

The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has a longstanding commitment to the oral and facial surgery needs of the Cincinnati community. The division regularly donates approximately 2,000 hours to the community each year in terms of treating patients at low (uninsured) or no cost.
