About the Cardiothoracic Imaging fellowship

Michael Burch HeadshotThe Cardiothoracic Imaging fellowship is a non-ACGME one-year program available to ABR Board certified or Board eligible radiologists who have completed an accredited radiology residency.

The fellowship program provides comprehensive training in all aspects of cardiac and thoracic radiology, including digital computed radiography, direct radiography,  chest CT, CT angiography, high resolution CT of the lungs for interstitial lung disease, chest MRI and cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.

The overarching goal of the cardiopulmonary fellowship program is for graduating fellows to acquire the knowledge and skills to become outstanding cardiopulmonary radiologists. The program is well-rounded with varied experience that can serve as a solid foundation for a career in either academic medicine or private practice.

Goals and Objectives

The primary goal of the fellowship is to produce graduates with a strong clinical background in cardiothoracic imaging. A secondary goal is to provide a “bridge” year between residency and practice, whether private or academic, to improve the fellow’s confidence in functioning independently.
