The department is part of the University of Cincinnati’s College of Medicine and currently comprises 18 primary faculty members with interests including Structural Biology and Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology, and Cellular Signaling, Regenerative Biology and Neuroscience. The Department of Molecular & Cellular Biosciences is also the home Department for the University of Cincinnati's Graduate Program in Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, and Microbiology.
