Program Director: Dr. Bruce Gebhardt

Dr. Bruce Gebhardt is a graduate of Allegheny College and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He did his residency in family medicine at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania.

He spent five years in private practice in Brockton, Mass and then joined the faculty at the UC College of Medicine. Dr. Gebhardt focused on medical student education and was the Family Medicine Clerkship Director. After eleven years at UC, he returned to St. Vincent Hospital as Associate Program Director and then Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency at St. Vincent Hospital. He returned to UC in 2017 to start the new Family Medicine Residency program at UC West Chester.

Dr. Gebhardt considers his selection for the Gold Humanism Award as a faculty member his highest honor. His most valued achievement is the ability over the years to keep growing as a physician and teacher while supporting and caring for his family throughout their phases of life.

His clinical interests have changed with the patients he has served, but include house call medicine, pediatric care, HIV/AIDS, wilderness medicine, and international health care.

Bruce is a proud native of Erie, PA, and the father of Ben and Anna. His wife, Robin, is an elementary ESL school teacher. He loves history, especially medical history, hiking, sports of all sorts (playing and watching—Who Dey!) and his dogs and cat.

Associate Program Director: Dr. Jeffry Ushupun

Dr. Jeffry Ushupun grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and traversed the midwest to attend Xavier University, where he earned a BA in Classics. At the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine he found his passion for family medicine. He trained in Family Medicine at The Christ Hospital / UC Family Medicine Residency.

Dr. Ushupun sees patients in the outpatient clinic, rounds at West Chester Hospital, and cares for patients at Heritagesprings Nursing Home. He treats patients of all ages and feels honored to care for multiple generations of families. Some of his clinical interests are Quality Improvement, use of technology to improve care, medical cannabis, and point-of-care ultrasound.

Dr. Ushupun and his wife have three children that keep them busy, an elderly cat, and an energetic dog. In his free time you may find him driving children around town, frequenting the public library, and attempting to learn limb independence and rhythm on the drum kit.

Core Faculty and Medical Director of Family Medicine Practice: Dr. Manoj Singh

Dr. Manoj Singh is originally from Canada, eh?, having completed medical school and family medicine residency at Memorial University of Newfoundland.  

He worked as an occupational health/ER physician in Newfoundland for 3 years and then moved to Ohio to work as a family physician in private practice at Portsmouth Ohio before joining the faculty of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 2005. Dr. Singh practices a broad spectrum of family medicine: taking care of patients in the office, hospital and in a near-by Assisted Living Facility. Dr. Singh has been involved with medical students from the University of Cincinnati for many years and loves teaching and learning from his students. 

Outside of patient care Dr. Singh is very interested in quality improvement and has been involved in several regional and national programs, most recently in Heart Healthy Ohio and Primary Care First. He has been really excited by the changes in family medicine over the last few years, including the emphasis on team-based care. 

Dr. Singh and his wife Tanuja, a yoga instructor, are empty-nesters living in Mason, Ohio and saving their coins for the next trip to Hawaii. Dr. Singh is a huge fan of ice hockey and 80’s rock music; his wife is not.

Core Faculty: Dr. Nate Harris

Dr. Harris is a Cincinnati native who is an alumnus of The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Prior to joining the faculty, he was a Family Physician at a Federally Qualified Health Clinic, where he provided Outpatient and Prenatal Care to a large French and Spanish speaking population.  


His many passions include utilizing the broad scope of Family Medicine to mitigate health disparities as well as practicing his Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys taking cooking classes with his wife and spending time with their two daughters. He is also a proponent of at home personal fitness.

Associate Faculty: Dr. Sri Murthy

Dr. Sri Murthy graduated from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India. Her father, who was the director of a pharmaceutical company, inspired her to become a physician. She relocated to the United States after marriage and graduated from the Clinton Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program that was previously affiliated with the University of Cincinnati.
After residency she work in urgent care and then in 2001 she opened up and co-directed a new family medicine practice center for the underserved community in Hamilton Ohio (initially known as BCCHC- Butler County Community Health Center) and helped in the process of acquiring FQHC status.
She also worked as a clinical preceptor for the Family Medicine Residency Programs at Clinton Memorial Hospital and University of Cincinnati.
 
In 2008 she joined full time UC primary care where she is providing compassionate care to her patients from newborn to geriatrics.
Her motto -Treat every patient in a way I wanted to be treated.
Dr. Murthy has also served in several free medical camps for underserved populations both in and outside the US. 
She occasionally binges on Netflix, likes to take long walks with her husband, and enjoys cooking.
