Overview

The Connections Dual Admissions Program, a BS/MD pipeline program, allows high school seniors to apply and be accepted to the University of Cincinnati undergraduate college and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine simultaneously.

The program attracts mature and intellectually curious students who are focused on service. The program is designed for students interested in health disparities, from a community engagement perspective, who are serious about a career in medicine.

The Connections Program is a non-accelerated, eight-year BS/MD program. Students spend four years as an undergraduate student at the University of Cincinnati and four years as a medical student at the College of Medicine (the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering & Applied Sciences joint program is nine years because of the required co-op learning program).

Admitted students enjoy the flexibility that comes with early assurance to a top-ranked medical school, and pursue various majors, medical shadowing experiences, co-op opportunities, study abroad programs, and service experiences within Cincinnati area and around the world. Additionally, students are granted acceptance into the University Honors Program to ensure they have a unique and diverse college experience. Students may pursue any major of their preference, but must minor in Medical Sciences.

Connections Dual Admissions students work closely with advisors in the College of Medicine, the undergraduate college’s Pre-Professional Advising Center (PPAC), and the University Honors Program to ensure success in their undergraduate years and that they are fully prepared for the challenges of medical school.
