One Year Internship Program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

The clinical load at University of Cincinnati’s division of OMS has increased exponentially over the years. This presents an opportunity to offer a one year internship program in OMS for interested individuals.

The non-categorical intern in OMS will have similar clinical functions as a first year resident in OMS. The ideal candidate utilizes this one year opportunity to immerse themselves in an experience that comes as close to a real OMS residency as possible. Interns participate in all clinical and didactic activities of the program.

The program is open to graduates of dental schools from the United States or ADA accredited international dental colleges. At this time, we are unable to sponsor any candidates that require a visa for their stay in the US.

The program will be limited to one year duration and will coincide with the academic calendar of the division to commence with the incoming class of OMS residents yearly. The salary and benefits of the intern would be the same of a first year OMS resident. The intern will spend 12 months on the oral and maxillofacial surgery service. While the internship offers a good opportunity to improve clinical skills and improve the candidate’s chances of entering a residency program, it does not guarantee admission to the OMS residency at UC.

Graduates seeking internships must provide the following:

• Dental graduate certificate
• Copy of your current CV
• Recent color photo
• A letter of intent
• Two letters of recommendation
