Established in 1976, the Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. More than 100 fellows have graduated from the program, with the majority entering academic positions and contributing significantly to the subspecialty of pediatric otolaryngology. Many have been named either division directors, department heads or deans.
Until 1995, the fellowship program lasted one year. We have increased the program's length to two years to allow for more time for developing an understanding of how to manage complex patients and surgically intervene in a multidisciplinary environment.
The purpose of the training program is to provide a solid foundation for clinical care and research in pediatric otolaryngology. The training is oriented toward an academic career.
