Residents receive 4 weeks of vacation per year.
*VA Junior rotations include a mix of in-house day call, home night call, and a “VA Float” (2nd years). Home call may necessitate coming into the hospital if needed.
**Additional elective time is built into the VA rotation when on “VA Float” for 2nd years – adding additional 8-10 weeks of elective throughout the year.
***A Block is a set of 4 weeks.
****Seniors have an additional 24-hour weekend shift 3-4 times during the year.
Our program has a research requirement. Residents may complete a research project, submit an abstract/poster/publication, or take a four-week research rotation to satisfy the requirement.
