About the Program

The fellowship is a one-year clinical fellowship primarily based at The Waddell Center for Multiple Sclerosis at the University of Cincinnati. This multi-disciplinary Center is a member of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) and a Partner in Care with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The clinic team includes a Nurse Practitioner, a licensed social worker, two Nurse Coordinators and several research coordinators. The fellow will obtain a complete history and perform a complete neurological examination on new and return patients in our MS clinics (Clifton, West Chester and Dayton). These will include patients with confirmed or suspected central demyelinating diseases such as MS, NMOSD, MOG-AD, transverse myelitis, optic neuritis, Neurosarcoidosis or ADEM. Fellows participate in patient care at affiliated hospitals and University of Cincinnati Medical Center and West Chester Hospital. The fellow will also participate in lectures, case conferences, and journal clubs as well as involvement with support groups and patient education series sponsored by our center. Additionally, he or she will participate in research and is expected to complete at least one research project during their fellowship. Also, he or she will be involved with the local National MS Society Chapter and expected to participate in the MS Walks, etc. The fellow will spend time with sub-specialists including neuro-urology, neuro-ophthalmology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, Rheumatology and Sarcoidosis clinic.
