The CommonApp provides a central location for medical student research and service opportunities that are available at UCCOM / CCHMC for University of Cincinnati College of Medicine** first-year medical students. This is a general application that includes supplementary fields (Part 2 and 3) for specific programs.
** MSSRP is the only CommonApp program that accepts outside applicants via the CommonApp.
Several programs may require you to first establish a relationship with a research mentor before applying. To facilitate your search for potential research mentors, utilize the UC Research Directory and other tools provided to you on the Office of Medical Student Research homepage.
To complete this application, you will need information about yourself, your research program, your mentor, and the programs in which you are interested. It is highly recommended to review the individual program requirements within the CommonApp ahead of time (clicking "YES" to a program in Parts 2 and 3 will provide additional questions or information pertinent to submitting a completed application for consideration.
The 2025 research summer is May 27 through August 1, 2025.

The 2025 CommonApp is closed. The 2026 CommonApp will open December 2025.

The 2026 PRIORITY DEADLINE for students applying for co-director positions or early consideration for intern positions with the Urban Health Project will be early-to-mid January 2026.
All other submissions must be received no later than the still to be specified time in early-to-mid February 2026.
