Musculoskeletal Radiology
The Musculoskeletal Section consists of a group of subspecialized musculoskeletal experts who provide high quality interpretation in all aspects of musculoskeletal imaging. Although primarily located at the only adult level one trauma center in the region, our services extend throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.
Section faculty are the sole imaging providers of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats and are dedicated to providing the highest level of care.
Our 1.5 Tesla open bore design magnet at the Varsity Village Imaging Center easily accommodates the student athlete. The center is conveniently located adjacent to Nippert stadium which facilitates prompt diagnosis of sports related injury, even during the game!
Areas of research interest in our section include trauma, mechanisms of injury, and cartilage imaging.
We offer state-of-the-art high resolution cartilage imaging, which also includes T2 cartilage mapping. These techniques provide not only anatomic evaluation, but allow functional assessment of cartilage which is not available with routine imaging.
Our services include:
- Radiography
- Computed Tomography (CT)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Fluoroscopy-guide Joint Injections and Aspirations
