Tongli Zhang, PhD

Dr. Zhang is an expert in integrating diverse theoretical tools to best solve challenges faced by the biomedical community. His first got his medical degree from China Medical University. Then, he received MS in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. He completed his PhD training at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and postdoc training in the University of Oxford, UK. He is currently an assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati, where he has led the effort of integrating mechanistic modeling, machine learning, and dynamical analysis into an integrated computational pipeline, utilizing this pipeline to solve biomedical challenges that are characterized by complexity, heterogeneity and uncertainty, and collaborating with basic research and clinical labs to effectively utilize the pipeline generated answers.
