About the Program
The pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship program is the cornerstone of the division. Our faculty provide comprehensive specialty training in a deliberate, supportive and collegial manner. The leadership of the program is focused
on helping fellows lay the foundation for a successful career as clinicians while also fostering academic growth through exploration of research and educational opportunities. One of the key features of our program is the flexibility –
we have several tracks available, which are constantly being refined based on fellow and faculty feedback.
Our clinical versatility allows for an exposure to the entire breadth of pulmonary and critical care medicine. Some of the highlights include: unique pulmonary pathology in our world renowned Rare Lung Disease clinic, cutting edge interventional
pulmonology, high-acuity medical ICU, comprehensive critical care exposure in specialty ICUs (neurosurgical, surgical and cardiovascular) and in depth pulmonary physiology training in the UCMC and the Cincinnati VA Medical Center PFT labs.
In addition to individualized instruction while on clinical rotations, fellows can take advantage of our fellow centric didactics that run throughout the academic year.
If you have questions about our program, please contact our fellowship program director Peter Lenz, MD, MEd at: email@example.com or our associate program directors Michael Hellmann, MD (Ultrasound Director) at: firstname.lastname@example.org or Alex Garbarino, MD (E-Learning Director) at: email@example.com. We invite you to explore our detailed educational website at https://www.tamingthemicu.com/ to see further what we have to offer. Our goal is to be an engaging and vibrant training program.
