C-CHANGE to See(d) Change: Community Engaged Approaches to Shift Public Health Practices in a Changing Climate

Presenter: Gen Meredith, DrPH, MPH, Cornell University 

Gen Meredith, DrPH, MPH, BScOT is an associate professor at Cornell University in the department of Public and Ecosystem Health, associate director of Cornell’s Public Health Program, director of Cornell’s Health Impacts Core, and co-director of Cornell’s Center for Health Equity. In these roles, Gen braids her experiences as a public health researcher and practitioner at local, clinical, state, and international levels to develop, evaluate, and improve public health systems, including through a deep commitment to building public health leaders of our future. Gen’s areas of applied research focus on engaged pedagogical practices for workforce development; optimized public health systems utilization through data-informed decision making; and community capacity building for collective impact. This work is topically focused on extreme weather resilience (heat, floods, wildfires), infectious disease prevention and control (VBD, respiratory, STI), and wellbeing (food and nutrition security, health care access, local agriculture).
