Undergraduate & High School Programs

Our Graduate Education office and Graduate programs partner with numerous undergraduate and high school programs designed to engage and prepare students interested in a career in biomedical research.

Current Undergrads:

  • Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)
The SURF Programs are designed for sophomore and junior level students who are US residents. Students must be able to commit to a 10 week program to do a research internship. SURF students are matched with an appropriate faculty advisor, based on mutual research interest. The advisor and intern design a specific research project within the context of the research focus of the advisor's laboratory. Learn more about SURF
  • Biomedical Research Day (BMRD)
BMRD is hosted every January and includes lively tours/demonstrations of interesting biomedical research labs and cutting edge research technologies, including stem cells, proteomics and genomics, advanced microscopy and neuroimaging. In addition, students and representatives from graduate programs and the MD/PhD Program will be available to answer your questions and discuss training opportunities at the UC College of Medicine and Cincinnati Children's.
