Appointments: Students may call 513-556-2564 for an appointment.

COVID-19 PCR TESTING

What: A viral test for SARS n-COV2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

Who: Anyone with an exposure to COVID-19 or needs a test for another reason and anyone with a negative Antigen test.

How: By nasal swab (gentle Qtip in the lower part of the nose).

Where: All specimens will be sent by courier to the UC Health laboratory for testing. Results will be available through Epic MyChart in 24-48 hours.

The details: If you have symptoms, you will need to remain in isolation after you have this test. If you are positive, you will need to isolate for at least 10 days.

If you do not have symptoms, double down on social distancing, mask wearing, and hand hygiene, as we know that some people can carry the virus and be contagious to others without having any symptoms (asymptomatic viral transmission).

Student insurance will be billed as for any other test performed by UHS. Students may be responsible for the balance if insurance does not cover.

RAPID STREP

What: Testing for strep, the bacteria that causes strep throat.

How: By swab of the back of the throat.

Where: Rapid onsite testing will be performed, known as point of care testing. Results are available within 5 minutes. If this test is negative, it must be confirmed by throat culture, which will be completed at UC Health Laboratory.

The details: Student insurance will be billed as for any other test performed by UHS. Students may be responsible for the balance if insurance does not cover.
