Personal Statement
Outside of my research and clinical experiences, growing up in a family devoid of medical professionals was essential in shaping the future physician I hope to become. As a kid, I remember the visceral fear I would experience when I heard that someone was “in the hospital”. Much of this fear stemmed from confusion about what was going on, and not understanding the medical terminology the physicians were using. Between trying to explain to my family what I do every day and tutoring throughout my undergraduate and medical school education, I have honed my communication skills and excel at simplifying concepts. During residency, I can’t wait to put these skills to use, educating patients about their conditions to help them feel safe, cared for, and empowered to manage their conditions.

Why I Chose Cincinnati
The reason I chose Cincinnati is 100% because of the people. The residents here were tighter than anywhere else I interviewed and it was the type of work family I was looking for. I also found great role models here, the senior residents and chiefs were amazing leaders and exactly the type of doctors I hope to be some day.
