Research Interests

Most research to date has focused on transcriptional, epigenetic, electrophysiological and morphological adaptations within neurons to understand drug addiction and relapse. Instead, Dr. Kruyer and her lab use single cell approaches to characterize astroglial subpopulations within the basal ganglia, the collection of brain nuclei that orchestrate motivated behaviors, including drug seeking.
