Daniel Kline Scholarship Fund

Dr. Daniel Kline was the chair of the Physiology Department (predecessor of the current Pharmacology and Systems Physiology Department) from 1966 to 1983.

His family created the Daniel Kline Scholarship Fund to benefit students pursuing MS or PhD degrees in the department, as well as educational faculty and staff. This fund supports travel, registration, and housing related to presentation of research discoveries, educational programs, and acquisition of new technical skills in physiology.

A faculty committee accepts applications for the Daniel Kline Scholarship Fund award in February for Spring meetings and in August for Fall Meetings. Contact Dr. Yvonne Ulrich-Lai for more information.

Vanessa Turkson 2023 Kline Award Winner AHA meeting

"The Kline award was an indispensable contribution to my professional and personal development, as it provided a highly beneficial subsidy to help offset conference attendance costs. Because of the Kline award, I was able to attend the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions and orally present my abstract, getting invaluable exposure for my project, a chance to view lots of groundbreaking research, and crucial networking opportunities. I am extremely grateful to have been selected for this award and hope that in the future many other candidates will benefit from it also." - Vanessa Turkson, PhD Graduate Student and 2023 Kline Award Recipient
