Diversity Interview Days

This targeted recruitment initiative invites applicants interested in learning more about the Office of Pathway Innovation and Inclusive Excellence to attend a special virtual program during the interview season. This program offers an opportunity to connect with medical students, alumni, faculty, and the leadership of the Office, providing valuable insights and fostering meaningful interactions.

Minority Visiting Elective

The Office of Pathway Innovation and Inclusive Excellence is proud to sponsor the Underrepresented in Medicine (URiM) Visiting Elective Program in collaboration with UC Health and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. We offer up to 12 funded visiting elective positions for 4th-year medical students from underrepresented medical backgrounds, including Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American/Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander. These positions, available from July through October (space permitting), provide a stipend of up to $1,500 to assist with costs related to away rotations. Eligible students must be attending a U.S. medical school.

Our program includes a 4-week clinical rotation in the departments of Anesthesia, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Family Medicine-Psychiatry, General Surgery and subspecialties (Cardiothoracic Surgery, Transplantation, Urology, Vascular Surgery), Internal Medicine, Medicine-Pediatrics, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Pathology, Pediatrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, Radiation Oncology, Radiology.

Summer Camp

The Office of Pathway Innovation and Inclusive Excellence is excited to announce its upcoming Summer Camp for high school juniors and seniors in the Cincinnati Public School District who have a passion for medicine. This camp aims to provide students with a unique opportunity to explore the medical field through hands-on activities, interactive workshops, and mentorship from professionals. Participants will gain valuable insights into various medical careers, develop essential skills, and build a network of peers and mentors.

Future Faculty Conference

We are excited to announce the Future Faculty Conference, set for January 2025, tailored for recent graduates of clinical and non-clinical health professions who are eager to explore the path to becoming faculty members at the University of Cincinnati (UC). This conference will provide a comprehensive overview of the academic journey, featuring insightful sessions on the application process, career development, and the unique opportunities available at UC. Attendees will have the chance to engage with current faculty, participate in interactive workshops, and network with peers who share similar aspirations.
