Department of

Obstetrics and Gynecology

Welcome From the Chair

As the chair of the University of Cincinnati Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, I welcome you to our website. We appreciate your taking time to get to know us.

I am extremely proud of our faculty and support staff, and confident that you will find them to be accessible and experts in their fields. We have faculty members who are examiners for the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology oral certification examinations. Many of our faculty are recognized annually by Cincinnati Magazine’s Top Doctors and Cincy Magazine’s Best Doctors in America

The department is a fully integrated practice group that encompasses all of the OB/GYN subspecialties. Our 28 faculty members in eight academic divisions have expertise in virtually all aspects of women’s health care issues. This allows us to support women throughout their lifelong journey from childbearing age to menopause and beyond. We are supported by an electronic medical record that facilitates communication and coordination of care between our OB/GYN generalists and subspecialists and other physicians within UC Health.

Education and training for students, residents and fellows is a core daily activity of the department. The department provides medical education in obstetrics & gynecology to all UC medical students. Through our accredited four-year OB/GYN residency training program and four subspecialty fellowship programs, the department trains 28 residents (seven in each year) and 10 subspecialty fellows each year. The quality of our educational programs is exceptional and I invite you to explore them in detail.

We are committed to providing sophisticated, state-of-the-art care for women. We strive to be compassionate and accessible. We care for women from all economic and social groups in the region through multiple offices and clinics.

In order to give women the choice for fully integrated health care, we have opened a unique Women’s Center located at 7675 Wellness Way, 4th Floor, adjacent to the West Chester Hospital. The Women’s Center integrates primary care with obstetrics, gynecology, midlife/menopause care, breast care, cardiovascular care, osteoporosis and much more, in a way that is unique for Southwestern Ohio.

The department’s research activities focus on clinical research, including investigator-initiated clinical studies, clinical trials, and population-based research. We always have a variety of clinical research projects enrolling patients in all the academic divisions. If you would like to have specific information about participation in any of our clinical projects you can contact our research division through the website.

Again, we appreciate your interest in the UC Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Our goal is to continually improve the quality and accessibility of care for women in our region.

If we can assist you with your health care, even just to answer questions that you may have, please do not hesitate to contact us through the numbers provided on this website. If necessary, please feel free to contact me directly at 513-558-2038.
