On Saturday, May 18, the UC College of Medicine hosts its annual Honors Day ceremony at the Aronoff Center for the Arts in downtown Cincinnati. During the event, graduates are hooded, signifying the completion of their Doctor of Medicine degrees.
The annual celebration features a variety of speakers, including Andrew Filak, Jr., MD, interim senior vice president for health affairs and dean of the College of Medicine, and a class representative.
Following Honors Day, graduates will move on to residencies at hospitals across the country and here in Cincinnati. Of the 48 students matched with hospitals in Greater Cincinnati, 28 will stay at UC Medical Center, seven at Christ Hospital, six at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, three each at Good Samaritan and Jewish hospitals and one at Bethesda North Hospital.
