Research Interests

Dr. Steele's research is directed toward defining virulence genes of fungi, particularly Histoplasma capsulatum.

He is developing molecular genetic tools to approach this problem (e.g., markers of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) transformation).

In addition, he is engaged in molecular genetic assays of human neoplasms, particularly leukemia lymphoma (e.g., gene rearrangement analysis, chromosomal translocation studies).
