Welcome from the Director

Welcome to the Christ Hospital/University of Cincinnati Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program!

Our program is committed to teaching and training geriatricians to become excellent clinicians, leaders of health care within the community, and advocates for quality and inclusive care of older adults. We are a community hospital program sponsored by The Christ Hospital, with faculty coming from the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati VA system. We have a strong, committed faculty group in multiple clinical arenas, creating a diverse clinical experience with strong faculty to fellow ratios. Our fellowship also provides flexibility to meet the learning and career goals for each future geriatrician. Geriatrics is a diverse and growing field, and we prepare our fellows to practice to pursue their own passions and meet the needs of our community. Our graduates are now working in academic settings, hospital care, primary care, nursing homes, and home-based primary care. Many of our graduates are now faculty in our program!

In addition to developing excellent clinicians, we seek to train educators, advocates and community leaders. Our fellows care for a group of underserved, low-income homebound older adults and our curriculum addresses the social determinants of health, bias in medical care, developing community partnerships and caring for the underserved. Fellows have multiple opportunities to grow their teaching skills and receive feedback, along with a longitudinal teaching curriculum.

As a migrant to the city, I can truly say Cincinnati is a wonderful place to live! It has much to offer with many cultural activities, collegiate and professional sports, an abundant parks system and a booming restaurant scene. I enthusiastically invite you to visit us and consider our Geriatric Medicine program for your fellowship training. For more information, please visit our program's website TCH/UC Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program

Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions. I am so glad you have chosen a career in geriatrics. We look forward to meeting you!

With thanks,

Anna Goroncy, MD, MEd
