My thesis work focuses on the development of novel three-dimensional mouse- and human-derived gastric organoid culture systems and the application of these gastric organoid systems to study the pathogenesis of Helicobacter pylori and its association with the development of gastric cancer. Recently I have been working to develop novel and rapid in vitro and in vivo approaches for predicting individual therapy responses for targeted treatment of gastric cancer, through the growth and characterization of cancer-derived gastric organoids.
