How to Apply

The Vascular Surgery Residency Program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center will be offering one categorical position for the academic year 2016-2017. The surgical residency program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), and adheres to the dates and deadlines set forth by the NRMP. All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Application Requirements:

  • ERAS application – deadline is October 1, 2015.
  • Personal statement.
  • Three letters of recommendation including letter(s) from vascular surgeons.
  • USMLE Step I and II. To be competitive, a score of 230 and above on the USMLE Step I and Step II is desirable. Results of the USMLE Step II must be received by January 5, 2016, for the application to be considered.
  • Dean’s letter.


Prospective participants are invited through ERAS. There is a reception on Tuesday evening with the current residents, which is mandatory. On interview day (Wednesday), each candidate meets with the Program Director and all vascular faculty.
