Pilot Research Symposium Presented by UC ERC Oct. 11-12

The 19th annual Pilot Research Project (PRP) Symposium highlights research in occupational and environmental health and related disciplines and is presented by the University of Cincinnati (UC) Education and Research Center (ERC). 

This year's keynote speaker will be Capt. Lauralynn Taylor McKernan, ScD, associate director for science at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. McKernan will present "Listen to the Music: How Rock ‘n’ Roll Provides Touchstones for the Evolution of Occupational Health” to kick off the symposium at 1 p.m. on Thursday. A panel discussion of occupational health and safety topics will conclude the symposium on Friday. 

The symposium is a showcase of the Pilot Research Training Program, which serves to increase the capacity of research trainees and young investigators in occupational health and safety fields. The PRP Symposium will highlight research in occupational and environmental health and related disciplines.  The symposium will be held:

Thursday, Oct. 11, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 12, 8 a.m. to noon
Kowalewski Hall, Auditorium 140 

This symposium is intended for: occupational medicine experts, occupational nurses, safety engineers, environmental and occupational health specialists, public health professionals, industrial hygienists, researchers in environmental exposures, air pollution, bio aerosol and sensor engineering experts. Students and post-docs in the above and related fields are encouraged to attend. The PRP training program supports pilot research projects in the area of occupational health and safety for 12 institutions from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
