The Pediatric Orthopaedic division is located at Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati, one of the largest children's hospitals (475 beds) in the country. We see over 12,000 emergency and outpatients and perform over 1,500 operations yearly. Besides our seven full-time attending faculty and one to two fellows each year, seven community physicians assist in staffing the outpatient clinics. General pediatric orthopaedic clinics are supplemented by many specialty clinics including spinal deformity, cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, sports medicine, hip, neurofibromatosis, tumor, and lib deficiency.
Educational programs include Journal Club, a monthly spinal deformity conference, and other regular conferences designed to enhance the residents' education. Special programs include a "Pediatric Hip Day" and "Pediatric Hand Day." Residents and fellows are required to perform clinical research and their work is sponsored at national and international meetings. Over 150 papers, presentations, and book chapters have resulted.
