Welcome to Medical Student Admissions

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine has a proud tradition of training outstanding clinicians and leaders in biomedical research and academic medicine.

The College of Medicine strives to provide a stimulating and challenging environment that prepares graduates for the demands of clinical practice. With each incoming class, we select students who will help advance this mission.

Attend an Online Information Session with the Assistant Dean of Admissions

If you'd like to hear more about the process of applying to the UC College of Medicine, what we look for, and how to refine your application, please attend one of our Information Sessions listed below. These sessions are conducted virtually (online) by our Assistant Dean of Admissions, Dr. Abbigail Tissot. Online Information Sessions typically last 60-75 minutes and consist of a broad overview followed by an opportunity to have your questions personally answered by Dr. Tissot. Our Spring 2018 dates are as follows:

  • Thursday 03/15/18: 7:00-8:00 PM EST - thanks to all of you who attended!
  • Tuesday 04/10/18: 3:00-4:00 PM EST - thanks to all of you who attended!
  • Thursday 05/10/18: 7:00-8:00 PM EST - thanks to all of you who attended!

NOTE:To attend a webinar, simply click on the link above to enter the session. The link will be active only on the day of the session immediately before the session begins.

Tour Cincinnati Medicine

To schedule a tour of our facility that is provided by a current UC College of Medicine student, please click here to sign-up for either of the dates below.  If you are unable to attend one of these dates, please check back in late August as we'll have a new list of available tour dates for the fall semester.

Please note, these tours are intended for current undergraduates and prospective applicants intending to apply to our College of Medicine within the next 2 years. If you are currently a high school student, please contact our Medical Sciences Program for a tour.

Gold Humanism Society Inducts Class of 2019

Gold Humanism Society Inducts Class of 2019

The College of Medicine’s Gold Humanism Honor Society Chapter, sponsored by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, inducted the GHHS class of 2019 and presented several humanism awards to residents and faculty at its annual dinner, Wednesday, May 2, in the CARE/Crawley Atrium.

Ndidi Unaka, MD, assistant professor in the UC Department of Pediatrics and associate program director for the pediatric residency training program at Cincinnati Children’s, was recognized as the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Faculty honoree. Unaka will officially be presented the award, which recognizes a College of Medicine faculty member who best demonstrates outstanding compassion in the delivery of care, as well as clinical excellence, during Honors Day on May 19. 

Laura Malosh, PhD, assistant dean of student affairs, introduced Unaka during the ceremony.

Fourth-year medical student, Ellen Pittman, is the recipient of the Leonard Tow Student Award this year.  

Twenty-six students were inducted into GHHS: Erickson Andrews, Vasantham Annadurai, Calyn Crawford, Eric Harvey, Kathryn Hasselfeld, Javier Howard, Elizabeth Ireson, Grace Lambert, Sisi Lu, Aesha Maniar, Samantha Marek, Beatrice Nichols, Emily Olson, Maria Paskell, Heather Peterson, Claudia Ricotti, Andrea Rosado, Monica Saccucci, Salima Sewani, Raisa Tikhtman, Rachel Tonnis, Marcus Trybula, Toral Vaidya, Mahima Venkatesh, Elizabeth Wacker and Amber Young.

All students were nominated by their peers and faculty as students who best exemplify integrity, compassion, altruism, respect, empathy and a dedication to service. Their awards were presented by Malosh.

Finally, the society recognized five residents with the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Teaching Awards this year. Presented by Amy Bunger, PhD, assistant professor in the Division of Medical Education and assistant designated institutional officer, the awardees are:

  • Sarah Atkinson, MD, General Surgery
  • Richard Hoehn, MD, General Surgery
  • Joshua Kuethe, MD, General Surgery
  • Aruna Puthota, DO, Family Medicine/Psychiatry
  • Miguel Situ, MD, Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine
