Medical Student Education

Interprofessional Education

Interprofessional Experience (IPEX) serves as an opportunity for students to understand how to work with multiple members of the health delivery team in order to provide integrated, high-¬quality care to patients as physicians. The emphasis of IPEX is to learn the functional role of other members of the healthcare system, appropriately utilize the services of other healthcare providers, and work as a team to achieve high-¬quality and equitable patient care. Specifically, students will observe and interact with three interprofessional team members in the tertiary care setting in order to learn the functional role of key healthcare providers including Speech/Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Nursing and Dietetics.
