Virtual Laboratory Manual (VLM)
This
is your lab manual that you will use for the live laboratories in the
Fundamentals courses. These files
include links to still images as well as links to digital versions of your
glass slide set. You can do the entire
lab from your computer.
Virtual Histology
Laboratories
Virtual
laboratory sessions are a series of activities that can be done in place of the
traditional laboratory. The content is
the same, except these assignments are entirely virtual (no microscope) and can
be done from any location (though the video files they contain may be difficult
to stream if you have a poor connection).
Electron Micrographs from envelope
This
is a digital version of all the electron micrographs that are in the envelope
in your drawer. You will be looking at
these micrographs extensively in lab #2, and sporadically after that. The notes section of this PowerPoint file
contains the key, thought questions, and the answers to those questions.
Before
the VLM and Virtual Histology Laboratories made learning histology easier, the
faculty used to present a brief laboratory introduction at the beginning of each
lab, showing images from our slide set and describing what to look for on these
slides. We no longer do these pre-lab
presentations, even in the live labs, but you can access the files here if you
are itching to have more things to look at.
Through
the combined efforts of myself, Jenna Klotz and Matt Stansbury (both class of
2012), we have created a database of practice questions using the testing
software that you will be using for exams.
To access these files, click on the links below. In the opening screen, put in your UC
username; no password required. These
are from the old histology course, so some questions are outdated, but many are
still useful.
