Welcome to the UC Division of Immunology, Allergy and Rheumatology. Our division has a rich history since being founded in 1969 by current faculty member Evelyn Hess, MD.
The division consists of two clinical sections—allergy and rheumatology—as well as a basic science section in immunology. However, we share common interests in basic and clinical immunology and a common mission: teaching, patient care and research.
Separate fellowship training programs are offered for allergy/immunology and rheumatology. These programs have the goal of producing subspecialists aiming for a career in academic medicine, with excellent clinical training grounded in an appreciation of their immunological basis.
Both training programs reserve large amounts of time for independent research and are integrated with the pediatric fellowships in allergy and rheumatology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Our faculty includes clinician educators, clinical researchers and basic researchers all dedicated to advancing our understanding of allergic and autoimmune disease. Again, welcome to our divisional pages.
