The Division of Hematology Oncology consists of 29 faculty members, each representing one or more disciplines within the fields of hematology and oncology.
We are actively involved in teaching medical students and training residents and fellows. The division offers three intensive fourth-year elective courses, allowing students to participate in all aspects of hematology oncology care. Residents benefit from rotating through inpatient and ambulatory wards, in addition to many other hematology oncology electives and training opportunities.
The Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program at UC provides fellows with clinical expertise in patient care as well as hands-on clinical and transitional research, supplemented with structured didactic learning. We have markedly enhanced the educational offerings for the benefit of our fellows. We now provide our fellows with more research opportunities than ever before. In addition to traditional fellowship training in Hematology Oncology, we have highly specialized fellowships in Hematological Malignancies and Bone Marrow Transplantation as well as Experimental Therapeutics.
The Division’s goal is to provide fellows with the tools needed to develop their skills for a career in academic medicine or group practice, and to have the ability to make a significant impact on the treatment of patients with cancer.
