How to Apply
The Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Our last site visit was September 2011 and we received full 5-year accreditation as a result of that site survey. Our program is four years in length. We are currently approved for 14 residents per year.
The Department of Emergency Medicine participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) and all our positions are available only through the NRMP. Any questions you may have should be directed to the NRMP (202-828-0676). Our NRMP program number is 1548110CO.
We accept applications through ERAS.
The application should include the Common Application Form (CAF), Dean’s Letter, three letters of recommendation (at least two from Emergency Medicine), USMLE scores, and personal statement. The application deadline is October 15. After receipt of the Dean's Letter on October 1, our Selection Committee will notify each applicant of its decision and, if appropriate, invite you for an interview. Interviews are by invitation only. All correspondence regarding the status of your application is conducted by email. Therefore, applicants should have a reliable e-mail address that is checked in a timely manner.
