About the Center
Diabetes and obesity continue to be major health problems for children and adults. UC scientists and clinicians have developed research and treatment programs for types 1 and 2 diabetes, as well as complications of diabetes and obesity.
Basic scientists at UC study peripheral hormones and how they act in the central nervous system to regulate food intake and body weight. Additional attention is given to genetic and environmental risk factors, bariatric surgery and nutrition and gestational diabetes.
* The Cincinnati Diabetes and Obesity Center is called a center,
but it resides at the institute level.
