Millennium Plan

A biomedical revolution is emerging, and the UC Medical Center plans to bring Cincinnati to the forefront. Bringing this revolution to Cincinnati has the potential to promote economic development in the area and to address health problems that touch nearly all of our lives. Cincinnati is poised to become a leader in this Biomedical Revolution, and UC's Millennium Plan is the answer.
The Millennium Plan is a bold strategic program that focuses on creating state-of-the-art facilities and congregating leading teachers, researchers and physicians in our community. The Millennium Plan focuses on working toward the end of some of the world's most devastating health concerns: cancer, heart and lung diseases, neuro-behavioral disorders and perinatal diseases. The project has two distinct components: expanding the Medical Sciences Building and creating a biomedical research facility.
Expansion of the Medical Sciences Building, home to the UC College of Medicine since 1974, will serve as the Medical Center's predominant wet laboratory space for basic research and will house the University's Neuroscience Institute. The expansion will complete the vision to make UC one of the finest research facilities in the world, thus enabling UC to more effectively recruit national and international scientists and researchers.
