Diabetes Center

More than 17 million Americans live with diabetes, but this growing problem affects many more people through medical, social and economic impacts. The fifth leading cause of death by disease in the U.S., diabetes can cause a number of health complications including: cardiovascular disease, neurological disease, eye and kidney diseases.

To address the growing risks of diabetes, the UC College of Medicine has developed a state-of-the-art academic clinical center for the care of patients with diabetes. The center will support all aspects of diabetes care and research, including:

  • Bringing the newest advances and technological developments to patients with diabetes.
  • Offering all aspects of diabetes care at a single, patient-friendly site: physician expertise, education and nutritional support.
  • Supporting innovative clinical diabetes research and providing a site where trials of new therapies can be performed.
  • Educating physicians and other health professionals in the region about new advances, proper treatment and management of diabetes.
