Medical Student Admissions

Transferring to the College

The College of Medicine will only consider transfer students who are currently enrolled in a U.S. allopathic medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).

Students must be in good standing and be transferring into the third year only. Additionally, all coursework in the first and second year must be completed and passed. This coursework should include a physical diagnosis/clinical component. The College strongly encourages exposure to biostatistics as it relates to critical assessment of scientific journals.

In addition to the above, students must have either a passing score on the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step I or be scheduled to take the exam prior to the start of classes (mid-June) .

Preference is given to Ohio residents and students who have a compassionate reason to relocate to Cincinnati. The number of acceptances offered is based upon space availability in the Year III class.

If you meet the above requirements, please contact the Office of Admissions after February 6th to request a transfer application packet. Requests should be sent to: comadmis@ucmail.uc.edu.

The deadline for all transfer applications is April 15th.
