Student Wellness
The Student Wellness Committee (SWC) was established by medical students upon request of the College of Medicine Dean’s Office to function as a means to help fellow students without the concern of approaching faculty at an administrative level.
This group comprises students who are elected by their peers and express a desire to listen and give thoughtful advice during times of personal need.
Not every medical student will experience a difficult situation during medical school, but if one does arise the SWC can lend a hand and help anyone in the following ways:
- 24/7 Help Line
- Emotional Support
- Encouragement/Motivation
- A Listening Ear
- Referral Resource
SWC members who enter a discussion with a fellow student will maintain confidentiality by not revealing the student issue with another student, SWC member or the UCCOM administration, unless there is an imminent risk to the student or others. In emergency situations, the appropriate professional will be consulted for assistance for the safety of the student.
Contact Information
University of Cincinnati College of Medicine students are free to contact any of the SWC members for a concern about self or a peer. Contact can be by email, cell phone or in person. Email addresses and phone numbers are available in the student directory and on the SWC website on the MedOneStop Portal.
SWC also has a pager which can be paged anytime, 24/7, at 513-230-1137.
