Traditional & Virtual Learning Opportunities
The College of Medicine offers a curriculum with a variety of pedagogical approaches and activities to prepare students for life-long self-directed learning.
These activities include large group lectures, team-based learning activities, interactive small group discussions, case-based presentations, interactions with standardized patients and online course lectures, laboratories and self-assessments.
Course syllabi and materials are available electronically on Blackboard to registered medical students.
Most lectures are audio-recorded, synchronized with the faculty presentation and available online for students to access at any time to solidify their knowledge and pace their learning. Students are responsible for all material presented in regularly scheduled activities and encouraged to learn course material in the format that is best suited to their learning style.
Classroom attendance is not required unless clearly designated as mandatory.
